Distinguished Teaching Award
Dr. Brian Janz
The Distinguished Teaching Award goes to Dr. Brian Janz, Department of Management
and Information Sciences.
Dr. Janz, who has been on the U of M faculty since 1995, received a Suzanne Downs
Palmer Professorship last year. “Brian Janz is excellent at presenting content in
a way that makes it more interesting to students,” says MIS Chair Dr. Judith Simon.
“He is very knowledgeable about current business practices, and finds ways to include
this knowledge as part of the course content to help students understand the concepts
being discussed.” Janz received bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees from the
University of Minnesota.
