Information for 2008 FACULTY CONVOCATION AWARD RECIPIENTS
CONGRATULATIONS on your award!
Twenty-first Annual Faculty Convocation Details:
Regalia: Award recipients and members of the platform party are asked to wear regalia for
the processional and ceremony. If needed, we will happily rent regalia on your behalf
at no charge to you. To make these arrangements, contact Dr. Marion Emslie in the
Commencement Office, ext. 5547, and indicate that you are an award recipient. Orders
should be placed by April 2. If you order regalia through the Commencement Office,
it will be waiting for you in Room 137 of the College of Communications and Fine Arts
when we assemble at 1:15 pm.
Time: PLEASE arrive in Room 137, CCFA at 1:15 p.m. April 23. This is where we will meet
to don regalia and assemble. If you have ordered regalia through the Commencement
Office, it will be waiting for you here. We will then march in the academic procession
together as members of the platform party.
Order of Procession by Group Respresentation :
Mace Bearer (President of the Faculty Senate)
General Faculty
McWherter Library (Note: Library Banner and faculty/staff will join the procession in front of the
library. They will be placed directly behind the Mace Bearer and in front of the General
Faculty for the continuation of the processional.)
Administration Vice Presidents Senior Vice Provost Vice Provosts Academic Deans
Platform Party (led by University Banner) President Provost Presenters Award Recipients Pronouncer
Procession Route: We will leave the Art Museum Lobby of the College of Communication and Fine Arts
Building, proceed south past the McWherter Library where we will pause the Processional
to pick up the Library Banner and the members of the McWherter Library Staff. We will
then proceed south, Circle to the west side of the fountain in the Student Activities
Plaza and then proceed west, south and east around the fountain to the Rose Theatre
south entrance. View map
Recession: Faculty will leave the Rose Theatre the same way that they entered.
Reception: A reception will be held in your honor in the lobby of the Rose Theatre immediately
following the ceremony.
