Dear UM Student:
You probably have a favorite professor, one that you think really deserves public
recognition and rewards for the way that he or she has helped you in your education.
Now you can recognize and show your appreciation to this person by nominating him
or her for the 2004/2005 Distinguished Teaching Award.
With this email the Distinguished Teaching Award Committee invites you to participate
in selecting the 2004/2005 Distinguished Teaching Award, which is funded and sponsored
by The University of Memphis Alumni Association. Four recipients of the award will
be selected by the Distinguished Teaching Award Committee, composed of past winners,
from the twenty faculty receiving the most nominations. The selection process will
also include assessment of the faculty member by his or her students and administrative
head.
At the link below you will find information on the Award itself, the qualifications
for eligibility, and a confidential form on which to submit your nominations.

The Committee sincerely urges you to nominate a deserving teacher, because the receipt
of the nomination in itself is a distinctive honor for the nominee, and the names
of the top twenty finalists will be published on campus. The nomination deadline is
February 13, 2005. Thank you for helping us to recognize worthy faculty.
Sincerely,
Robert Frankle, Co-Chair
