Biographical Sketch

Joanna received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Spring Hill College in 2005. In 2011, she received her Ph.D. from The University of Memphis. After graduation, Joanna received additional training through a postdoctoral research fellowship at Northwestern University under the supervision of Dr. Bonnie Spring. At Northwestern, she worked on NIH-funded clinical trials testing the efficacy of technology-supported interventions for multiple behavior change and obesity treatment. Joanna is currently completing an NCI funded postdoctoral research fellowship at the University of Illinois at Chicago under the mentorship of Dr. Marian Fitzgibbon where she is extending her research to cancer prevention and community-based weight gain prevention efforts targeting at-risk youth.
