Cook Chosen to Review NIH Grants

Dr. Melloni Cook, assistant professor, has been selected by the National Institutes of Health to serve as a grant reviewer. Cook says that being a reviewer will allow her to see what NIH is looking for and the types of applications they will fund. "As an upcoming researcher and just coming out of the junior faculty phase, being a grant reviewer will give me the opportunity to read grant applications of seasoned grant writers. It will be a learning tool."

Dr. Rob Williams, Dunavant Chair of Excellence in Developmental Genetics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, recommended Cook.

She will travel to San Francisco in February to fulfill her first assignment as a grant reviewer.
