About the MPH Program
set cell vertical height

The MPH program has a well-defined set of goals that will guide the direction of every student's interdisciplinary plan of study. Our primary goal is to create and nurture an environment conducive to interdisciplinary public health initiatives, with special emphasis on vulnerable populations who suffer disproportionately from illness and disability.

To this end, you will enjoy a course of study that will introduce you to the latest theories and best practices in such areas as disease surveillance, needs assessments, and program evaluation. Careful faculty advising will be a critical part of your success, as you determine which areas of public health interest you most, and work toward a final semester's worth of innovative and rigorous research on critical public health issues.

Candidates are likely to have a wide variety of backgrounds and training. We anticipate that some candidates for admission will be working as public health professionals, or have done so in the past, but such work experience is by no means required.
