Common Holds

These are the administrative holds you are most likely to encounter. The Why tells you why the hold was placed and, when appropriate, gives you a link to a fuller explanation. The Who tells you which office placed the hold. Only the office that placed the hold can remove it.

ASR Purge
Why?	Your academic status requires that you contact the Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services (CARES) before being allowed to register. See Academic Standing.
Who?	Contact the Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services.
Draft Registration
Why?	Admissions requires proof of your Selective Service registration. Males born January 1, 1960 or later must register with the Selective Service System.
Who?	Contact Admissions.
Final HS Transcript
Why?	Admissions has not received your final high school transcript for evaluation. You cannot be fully admitted and register until your transcript has been evaluated.
Who?	Contact Admissions.
Grad Probation
Why?	Your academic status requires that you contact the Graduate School before being allowed to register.
Who?	Contact the Graduate School.
Hepatitis B or Meningitis
Why?	Proof of vaccination is required. See Immunization / Hepatitis B - Meningitis.
Who?	Contact Student Health Services.
High School Deficiency
Why?	You did not meet all Tennessee high school requirements. See Admission Deficiencies.
Who?	Contact the Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services.
Intl Hlth Insurance
Why?	Proof of health insurance is required. See Health Insurance Requirements - FAQs.
Who?	Contact the International Students Office.
Student Conduct
Why?	You must be cleared by Judicial and Ethical Programs before you can be readmitted or register.
Who?	Contact Judicial and Ethical Programs.
Measles
Why?	You were granted a waiver for supplying documentation of two Measles immunizations. However, the waiver period has expired; thus, you cannot register, add, or drop until you supply the required documentation to Student Health Services. See Immunization / MMR for more information on this hold and the steps to take to remove it.
Who?	Contact Student Health Services.
Non-Degreement Agreement
Why?	You are required to complete a Graduate Non-Degree Agreement form before enrolling in further graduate courses.
Who?	Contact the Graduate School.
Official College Transcript
Why?	Admissions has not received your transcript(s) from your previous institution(s) for evaluation. You cannot be fully admitted and register until your transcript(s) have been evaluated.
Who?	Contact Admissions.
Outstanding Accts Rec
Why?	You owe the University money. You have not satisfied all fees and fines. You will not be allowed to register for the upcoming term, view grades, request an official transcript, or perform a degree audit until your fees/fines have been satisfied.
Who?	Contact the Bursar's Office.
PPD or TB Screen
Why?	Proof of tuberculosis skin testing is required. See Immunization / TB Skin Test.
Who?	Contact Student Health Services.
Returned Check - AR [AR = Accounts Receivable]
Why?	Your wrote a check to the University that was refused for insufficient funds.
Who?	Contact the Bursar's Office.
