Honor societies Phi Kappa Phi and Omicron Delta Kappa at the University of Memphis
will host an Honors Assembly recognizing outstanding students from 12 different areas.
The event will be held Sunday, April 26, at 3 p.m. in the Michael D. Rose Theatre
on campus.
Approximately 165 students will receive awards, honors, and scholarships, covering
the period from summer 2008 through this spring. The public is welcome to attend.
U of M President Shirley Raines will welcome the audience and recognize the honorees.
Colleges and programs will honor students for superior academic performance, creative
achievement, research, and service. Awards will be presented from the Herff College
of Engineering, the Fogelman College of Business & Economics, the College of Communication
and Fine Arts, the University College, the College of Arts & Sciences, the College
of Education, the Loewenberg School of Nursing, the Graduate School, Aerospace Studies,
Military Science, and Naval Science.
One of the Special Awards that will be presented is the Donald K. Carson Leadership
Scholarship, named for the University’s former longtime vice president for student
affairs.
