The University of Memphis chapter of Alpha Lambda Delta, an honor society for first-year
college students, received a Bronze Award for exceptional recruitment efforts during
the past academic year. The chapter added 101 new members at its induction ceremony
in April, increasing its membership by 23 percent.
“Alpha Lambda Delta is extremely excited to accept this award,” said Becky Shaffer,
the current president. “Our increase in membership would not have been possible without
the hard work of last year’s officers to publicize the organization and recruit strong
students known for their academic excellence. We hope to continue our outstanding
achievements this upcoming year.”
