Spring Dance Concert Continuum Features Contemporary Choreography by U of M Faculty University News

Continuum weaves together past, present, and future dance artists at the University of Memphis. All performances are in the Dance Space, Communication and Fine Arts Building, room 124. Performances begin at at 8 p.m. April 15-17, and at 2 p.m. on April 18. Admission is free.

The Spring Dance Concert will  feature inspiring contemporary choreography by U of M Theatre & Dance faculty Susan Chrietzberg, Angie Hollis, Holly Lau, and Wayne Smith, as well as imaginative choreographic contributions by dance alumni, Amelia Byrd ('07) and Kelly Ferris Lester ('00).

Guest artist Emily Wexler returns to create a new work for U of M dance students and to reprise last season's there, there. Performed by energetic and talented U of M students, Continuum carries on the tradition of excellence in dance at the University of Memphis.

Byrd is director of dance at Colonial Middle School in Memphis, Lester is assistant professor of dance at The University of Southern Mississippi, and Wexler is an independent choreographer, performer, and writer who works and performs in New York City and Philadelphia, PA.
