The University of Memphis will host two events this month related to off-campus housing.
On March 17, as a precursor to the annual Off-Campus Housing Information Fair, the office of
Adult and Commuter Student Services (ACSS) will host a seminar, “Leasing Agreements
and Tenants Rights,” from 10:20 to 11:15 a.m. in the new University Center, Room 338.
Admission is free.
The seminar will focus on topics such as safety and security, tenant rights and responsibilities,
lease agreements, what to look for during your housing search, and other subjects
pertaining to off-campus housing. The facilitators will be Tina Sandoval with Crye-Leike
Property Management and attorney Larry Baer from Memphis Area Legal Services.
On March 24, the sixth annual Off-Campus Housing Information Fair will be held from
9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Michael D. Rose Theatre. Admission is free, and door prizes
will be awarded.
Also sponsored by ACSS, the fair will provide students, faculty, and staff with information
about off-campus housing options and services in the community. Fair-goers will be
able to speak personally with representatives from local housing and apartment properties
and other related vendors about their amenities, services and specials.
The office of Adult and Commuter Student Services provides campus and community resources
and services to non-traditional and traditional-age commuter students in a supportive
environment that promotes intellectual, social, and academic growth and development.
