Ambivalence About Government Will Be Topic of U of M Lecture March 25 University News

Dr. Paul Posner, national president of the American Society of Public Administration, will be the featured speaker for the James R. Carruth Public Service Lecture at the University of Memphis this Thursday, March 25. He will speak at 5:30 p.m. in the University Center, Room 300. A reception will follow. Both events are free and open to the public.

His topic will be “Get the Government Off of Our Backs – There Ought to Be a Law: Reconciling Our National Ambivalence About Government.”

Posner is a professor and director of the master’s in public administration program at George Mason University. He previously served as director of federal budget and intergovernmental relations in the Government Accountability Office. Posner earned his doctorate from Columbia University.

The lecture is sponsored by the U of M’s Division of Public and Nonprofit Administration and the Memphis Mid-South Chapter of the American Society of Public Administration.

Parking is available in the Zach Curlin garage.
