A basketball camp for students will be held next month under the direction of Melissa
McFerrin, new head basketball coach for the women’s team at the University of Memphis.
A team camp for high school girls’ and AAU girls’ teams, will run June 14-15. The
camp will be held primarily in the Elma Roane Field House on the U of M campus; additional
sites may include the Finch Center and the U of M Recreational Center.
Camp staff will include the U of M coaching staff and players, plus local high school
and AAU coaches. Campers will be supervised at all times by the staff.
Cost of the team camp is $150 per team, plus $50 per player; a minimum of 10 team
members must attend. Participants are guaranteed to play five games during the camp.
Campers should dress appropriately (t-shirts, shorts, socks, and sneakers) and bring
bagged lunches and bottled water.
Campers should have their own medical coverage; the camps do not provide medical insurance.
