The University of Memphis Alumni Association Young Alumni Committee will host the
second annual First Tennessee True Blue 5k race on Friday, November 21, at 7 p.m.
on the University’s main campus. Proceeds from the race will support the work of the
Young Alumni Committee and its commitment to building a stronger University and a
stronger Memphis.
Students, alumni, and all Tiger supporters are invited to participate in the race.
A pep rally before the race will feature the Mighty Sound of the South band and the
U of M cheerleaders.
Runners and walkers will enjoy a course that winds through the U of M campus, past
such sites as the Presidential Rose Garden, clock tower, student plaza, and FedEx
Institute of Technology. The race will end at the Alumni Mall, where a post-race
party will include awards, refreshments, and music from the Soul Outsiders. The celebration
will continue November 22 as the Tigers take on C-USA football rival Central Florida.
Racers may register online at www.trueblue5k.racesonline.com or in person at the University of Memphis Alumni Center, 633 Normal near Spottswood.
The registration fee is $25. All racers will receive an official True Blue 5k t-shirt.
First Tennessee Bank is the True Blue title sponsor. Other race sponsors include Memphis
Sport magazine, R.P. Tracks, ATC Fitness, Back Yard Burgers, Mahaffey Tent & Party
Rentals, Corky’s, Smoothie King, and Measures of Joy Catering.
The University of Memphis Alumni Association is a non-profit organization with the

the ideals of the University, advancing its welfare, and fostering life-long relationships
with the institution. For more information on the Alumni Association or the Young
