The half-hour documentary, “Don’t Make Me Start This Car!”, by Craig Leake, associate professor of communication at the University of Memphis, will be broadcast by local public television station WKNO at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 4th.

The film, a collaboration between Leake and his 17-year-old daughter Mackenzie about her year-long confrontation with her fear of driving, is a charming essay on the need to choose which risks in life are acceptable.

After its debut on WKNO, the documentary is slated to be shown on other public television stations in Tennessee.

Filmmaker, Mackenzie Leake, at one of the accident scenes she photographed during the year she was making her documentary and conquering her fear of driving.
