Chucalissa Will Host Southeastern Indian Heritage Festival Oct. 25-26

Native American art, dance, food, and more will be on display during the Southeastern Indian Heritage Festival at the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 25 and 26. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children and seniors.
Special features will include a stickball tournament, social dances, traditional music, artist booths, children’s games, and Native American food.
Operated by the University of Memphis, the C.H. Nash Museum at Chucalissa serves as a gateway to understanding the science of archaeology and the interpretation of Native American history. The museum exhibits illustrate the pre-history of the Mid-South as well as contemporary Southeastern Indian cultures.
