Dr. Brian Meredith Is New Director of Admissions at the U of MFor release: September 9, 2008 For press information, contact Gabrielle Maxey, 901/678-2843 Dr. Brian Meredith has been appointed director of admissions at the University of Memphis. A U of M staff member since 1996, he brings to the position extensive experience working with students, parents, faculty, and administrators.
Meredith had been director of Recruitment and Orientation Services at the U of M since 2005, utilizing recruitment concepts that involve telecounseling, direct mail, and admissions. Before that he had served as associate director of the Office of Admissions. Meredith has also been an adult/transfer student counselor and has taught the University’s freshman orientation course, ACAD 1100. “Serving as director of admissions is an exciting opportunity,” Meredith said. “I’ll be able to work with students as they begin their college experience, as well as with faculty and staff across campus. I also hope to work closely with the University’s recruitment initiatives to ensure a smooth transition through the admissions process.” A graduate of the University of Mississippi, Meredith earned a master’s degree in higher education from Mississippi State University and a doctorate in higher education administration from the U of M.
