University of Memphis ResNet

ResNet is the residential computer network service provided to students living at University of Memphis. ResNet lets you connect your personal computer directly to University of Memphis's computer network and, through the University network, to the Internet.

This site provide comprehensive information about services available through ResNet, acceptable use of ResNet, setup and configuration and keeping your computer secure.

VIRUS/SPAM WARNING:

The University Network can periodically suffer a disruption of service to the Internet due to various worms/trojans/virus infestations. This disruption could result in slow internet speed or no Internet access altogether. It is REQUIRED that every user of our Network install a virus protection program and keep those virus definition files updated. If you DO NOT have an antivirus program, contact our ResTech office and we can provide one for you. You should also keep your Operating System updated with the latest patches. Systems found infected will be removed from the University of Memphis Network and not allowed back on until they have been cleaned up. PRACTICE RESPONSIBLE COMPUTING.
