 After the Contest Entry Period has ended, a qualified panel of judges, in its sole
discretion ("Judges") will judge all eligible Finalist Entries based on the following
criteria:
- Criteria 1: Overall Appeal (25%)
- Criteria 2: Originality and Creativity (25%)
- Criteria 3: Understanding and Demonstration of theme (25%)
- Criteria 4: Adherence to Creative Assignment (25%)
The Finalist Entrant submitting the Finalist Entry receiving the highest ranked score
will be declared the potential Contest Grand Prize Winner, subject to verification.
In the event of a tie of total score between two (2) or more Finalist Entries, the
Entry with the highest score for Criteria 1 will be declared the higher ranked Entry
and if a tie remains thereafter, the Entry with the highest score for Criteria 2 will
be declared the higher ranking Entry, and so on until the tie is broken. The Judges’
decisions on all matters pertaining to judging, administering and/or interpreting
the terms and conditions of this Contest are final. Judging will be completed and
Grand Prize Winner announced on or about 12/2/11, following verification.
RELEASE: By participating, Entrants release Contest Entities (also herein "Released Parties"),
from any and all liability with respect to participation in the Contest or to the
acceptance or use (or misuse) of any offer/prize or in the participation of any offer/prize-related
activities or any use of the Entry submitted by the University of Memphis. Entrants
agree to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Released Parties from and against,
and accept all responsibility of any kind, including but not limited to financial,
for any liability, claims, losses, damages or proceedings, including but not limited
for death, (including reasonable attorneys' fees) relating to any actions taken by
Entrants, including without limitation all warranties relating to participation and
entry in the Contest and use of Entrant’s e-mail, as authorized herein. Entrants also
agree to release, defend, indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any
and all liability, claims, losses, damages or proceedings, including but not limited
for death (including reasonable attorneys' fees) relating to Contest offer/prize consideration
and Contest publicity, use of the Entry, and any other matter in connection with Entrant
or Representative’s participation in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible
for lost, late, damaged, delayed, incomplete or unintelligible entries, entries not
received by entry deadline, interrupted or unavailable network, server or other connections,
miscommunications, failed telephone, computer hardware, software and other technical
failures of any kind, including injury or damage to any person's computer relating
to or resulting from participating in or experiencing any materials in connection
with the Contest, unauthorized human intervention, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer
transmissions or other errors of any kind, whether human, mechanical or electronic,
including without limitation, the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry information
online regardless of cause that may limit a user's ability to participate in the Contest.
Released Parties reserve the right to prohibit the participation of an individual
if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any
requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these Official
Rules. INTERNET CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE
OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND
CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE UNIVERSITY OF MEMPHIS RESERVES
THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED
BY LAW INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION. The University of Memphis reserves the right
to cancel or modify Contest or disqualify an Entrant’s eligibility, if fraud, misconduct
or technical failures compromise the integrity or fairness of the Contest; or if a
computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration, security,
or proper administration of the Contest as determined by Judges/Contest Entities,
in their sole discretion. In the event of termination of the Contest, all eligible
entries received prior to termination will be judged. Multiple Entrants are not permitted
to share the same email address. Any attempt by an Entrant to submit more than one
(1) entry by using multiple/different email addresses or any other methods will void
that Entrant’s entries and that Entrant may be disqualified. Except where prohibited
by law, by accepting offer/prize, winners agree to use of their names and any statements
made by winners regarding the Contest or the University of Memphis (provided same
are reasonably believed to be true) for advertising or publicity purposes worldwide
without limitation, in any media now known or hereafter invented, and without compensation,
and further grants the University of Memphis any and all rights to said use.
