Today the Corps of Engineers brought their side-scan sonar to see if they could image
the streamer snagged yesterday. We continued collecting data, drifting ever closer
to Caruthersville, which is our ending location for this year’s journey.
We received a radio call from the runner boat who was assisting with the imaging of
the lost streamer that they had imaged something long and straight, then when scanned
again it had snaked itself along the river bottom. Looks like the streamer was still
snagged. In the realm of possibilities, having the streamer still snagged and not
completely lost to the river was a blessing.
Now the question was, what do we do about getting the streamer back?
