The Tennessee Board of Regent’s (TBR) General Personnel Policy [1] establishes standards, guidelines, and reporting requirements for the appointment and employment of faculty and staff in the TBR system. A variety of other TBR personnel policies and guidelines [2] provide a framework in which the University of Memphis has defined its human resources policies.
As are all university policies, those related to personnel and employment issues are published on the university’s web page. [3] Policies regarding recruitment, selection, and employment; educational assistance, leave, and benefit programs; compensation; performance appraisal and improvement; employee records; and separation from employment for all types of employees are included, maintained, and updated on the website. In addition, policies specific to the appointment and employment of faculty are included in the Faculty Handbook, [4] which is published and maintained online.
