Compliance report completed by: Audit Team 33

Statement of Rationale for Judgment of Compliance:

The University of Memphis is committed to providing programs and services that support student learning, enhance student satisfaction, and encourage student success. These programs and services are documented in the university’s response to Core Requirement 2.10. [1]

Many student affairs programs are provided by the Division of Student Affairs. [2] Units that provide these programs and services in the Division of Student Affairs-Student Life organization are:

  • Campus Recreation and Intramural Services [3]
  • Judicial and Ethical Programs [4]
  • Leadership and Involvement [5]
  • Minority Affairs [6]
  • Residence Life and Dining Services [7]
  • University Center [8]

Units that provide these programs and services in the Division of Student Affairs-Student Development area are:

  • Adult and Commuter Student Services [9]
  • Career and Employment Services [10]
  • Center for Student Development [11], including career and psychological counseling, educational support programs, and testing
  • Student Disability Services [12]
  • Student Health Services [13]

Other programs and services are provided through the following units located in Academic Affairs:

  • Financial Aid [14]
  • Academic Counseling Center [15]
  • Athletic Academic Services [16]

Each of these units employs staff with appropriate educational preparation and work experience to provide necessary programs and services to students. To illustrate, 7 of the 12 professional staff in the Center for Student Development have a relevant terminal degree, and collectively the 12 professional staff in the Office of Financial Aid have nearly 150 years of experience in student affairs.

As described in the university's response to Comprehensive Standard 3.2.10, [17] all university staff are evaluated annually; this process ensures the continued quality and effectiveness of student affairs staff.
