There are several ways to stay informed on and get connected to the countless service opportunities.

Tiger Volunteer Network (TVN)

The Tiger Volunteer Network is designed for students who want to learn more about community service and volunteer opportunities in the surrounding community. Students can sign up below and receive information about opportunities as they arise. T.V. Network students are not obligated to participate in the projects, but are encouraged to organize projects with friends, organizations, classmates, and colleagues.

Students: To receive news about TVN opportunities please join the TVN Tiger Zone page at https://memphis.collegiatelink.net/organization/tigervolunteernetwork

Agencies: If you have an opportunity for our volunteers, please e-mail the details to tigervolunteernetwork@memphis.edu. Please include all pertinent dates, information about what volunteers will be doing, and contact information for your volunteer coordinator. We will forward your message to TVN and ask them to contact you directly if they are interested in volunteering.

Alternative Spring Break (ASB)

ASB is a great community service experience during the week of spring break. Learn more about ASB!

Civic Engagement

Civic Engagement Board

This board provides community service opportunities to the University of Memphis. They are committed to providing quality programs such as the Welcome Weekend Day of Service, Service on Saturday, Alternative Breaks, and weekly service initiatives. For more information on how to get connected to these and many other service opportunities, contact civicengagement@memphis.edu.

Welcome Weekend Day of Service

Want to learn more about the Memphis community while giving back? This year, the Board will be hosting a Day of Service during our Welcome Weekend. Mark your calendars for Saturday, August 20th.

Service on Saturday

This monthly program, sponsored by the Civic Engagement Board, is designed to give students, staff, and faculty a quick and easy way to volunteer in the community with no long-term commitment. The program typically offers about 6-12 different community service opportunities to choose from. Participants who sign up in advance online get their first choice of these projects. The program generally begins at 8:30 am with free breakfast and ends around 12:00 - 1:00 pm with free lunch.

Weekly Volunteer Opportunities

The Board organizes several weekly opportunities for students to volunteer in the Memphis community. Varying by month, students will have the chance to work with a number of agencies in Memphis that focus on a range of social justice issues.
