Student Evaluation of Teaching Effectiveness

SETE Faculty Demo

SETEs are to be completed online.

As you are aware, faculty members are unable to view the SETEs online forms. Only students upon logging into the University of Memphis portal, Spectrum (https://my.memphis.edu/), can access the link to SETEs. Students can find the link on the tab called "Courses" and then in the channel called "SETEs". When students click the link, they will be taken to a list of their courses. Students are to fill out the form and submit the evaluation for each course they are taking.

Important: The SETE submissions will be anonymous to the instructor. Just like in the paper form of SETE, only the class ratings as a whole will be provided to the instructor. The comments will be provided and will also be anonymous.

While the instrument is open for student access, you may monitor the number of students who have completed the instrument for your courses by logging into the Spectrum portal and viewing “Faculty SETEs Monitor” channel under the “Faculty” tab.

The link below will take you through the demo of the SETE Online System. The form is not linked to a database so feel free to "answer" the questions or simply read over the questions. When you click the submit button at the bottom of the form, you will see a confirmation page.

There will be two links at the bottom of the confirmation page. One link will take you back to the list of courses. (Note that the link you clicked before to access the SETE form is no longer available since the SETE for this course has been "completed.") The second link on the confirmation page will show you the survey that students can fill out to evaluate the new SETE system.

We hope that you and your students will find this new online evaluating system easier and more efficient.
