Kathy Johnson Director (ext. 2796)
Kathy holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Phoenix in Business Management
and a Master's Degree from California State University, Fresno in Public Administration.
Prior to coming to the University of Memphis, she worked over 20 years in Facilities
Management at California State University, Fresno starting out in their budget department
and serving in several capacities before finally becoming the Associate Director of
Planning and Administration.
Kathy's role in the Office of Space Planning includes continuous analysis of space
use and types toward effectively assisting the university with space programming and
planning for both current and future space needs. Additionally, she is responsible
for the maintenance and reporting requirements associated with the Physical Facilities
Inventory (PFI) database.
Laura Mooney Space Analyst (ext. 2546)
Laura is the newest member of the Space Planning and Utilization office. She holds
an Associate Degree in Interior Design and an Associate Degree in Architectural Technology.
Laura is pursuing her Bachelors Degree here at the University of Memphis. Laura is
a State of Tennessee registered Interior Designer and also a LEED AP (leadership
in energy and environmental design accredited professional). Before coming to the
University, Laura worked on various commercial and residential projects as both a
project manager and designer.
Laura's responsibilities for the University include, space programming and planning
using AutoCAD and Archibus software, space studies for departments and discussing
her findings and suggestions with University clients.
Ted Risch Space Planning & Utilization Graduate Assistant (ext. 4728)
Ted began as a student worker at Space Planning and Utilization before earning a Bachelor
of Fine Arts degree in Architecture here at the University of Memphis. He is currently
in graduate school pursuing a Master of Architecture. Ted helps maintain Facilities
Management Drawings using AutoCAD, performs field surveys on buildings and helps maintain
building data for the Physical Facilities Inventory.
