Established as an independent academic unit on July 1, 2009, the University of Memphis
School of Public Health seeks to prepare our future public health workforce, address
public health concerns through rigorous research and a focus on translation of research
to practice, and provide information and outreach to our community and the region.
The U of M School of Public Health aspires to become one of the nation's premier centers
for health disparities research, with particular emphases on urban health equity,
health systems policy, and social and behavioral interventions to address environmental
issues and chronic diseases among vulnerable populations.
