WAYS TO GIVE
How can I make a gift to the School of Public Health?
Giving to the School of Public Health is easy. Visit the University’s on-line giving
page.
For more information, contact Lendon Ellis, director of development, at 901-678-5288,

Why is giving to the School of Public Health important?
As state support of higher education continues to decline, your investment in the
School of Public Health becomes increasingly important. Partnerships with individual
alumni, friends, businesses, corporations and foundations provide valuable support
to the School’s annual programmatic budget. Giving to the School of Public Health
through the University’s Annual Giving Campaign or through special campaigns is a
great way to make a gift.
Why should I support the School of Public Health annually?
Annual giving supports our “everyday needs.” Gifts are used to help support students
and faculty and provide for programs that enhance the School’s service in the community.
Large or small, it’s your participation that counts!
SCHOOL INITIATIVES/FUNDING OPPORTUNITIES

INVEST IN SPH
Annual Giving
Annual giving supports our “everyday needs.” Annual gifts are used to help support
students and faculty, expand the programs we offer the community to increase and broaden
the awareness of public health issues. Large or small, it’s your participation that
counts! Consider making your gift today.
Endowed Funds
A gift of $30,000 or more creates an endowed fund within the University of Memphis
Foundation for the support of our students, faculty, and community programs. The principal
of the fund is preserved and only the income from the fund is used to support the
specified School program or activity. Through endowed funds, you can establish faculty
professorships and create graduate student assistantships. For more information, please
contact Lendon Ellis at 901-678-5288.
Bequest or Planned Gift
Designating all, or a portion, of your estate to the School of Public Health through
a bequest or deferred gift commitment is another way to significantly impact the work
of the School and leave a lasting legacy of your commitment to public health education.
Bequests and planned gifts can provide significant estate, capital gains and income
tax deductions, as well as life income opportunities. For more information on making
your planned gift, please contact Dan Murrell, CFRE, director of planning giving for
the University of Memphis, at 901-678-2732.
