Healthcare continues to be one of the most dynamic sectors of the United States economy,
and all expectations are that this trend will continue for decades to come. Because
of this continuing growth there are numerous opportunities for exciting career opportunities.
Careers are available in hospital administration, managed care, long term care administration,
ambulatory care, physician practice management, and many others. These are rewarding
career paths, primarily because effective leadership in these organizations can make
a difference in the communities they serve. Healthcare is more driven by its business
aspects today than in the past. This situation will become even more the case in the
future. The Master of Health Administration Program at the University of Memphis will
provide you the knowledge, skills, and tools you need to meet this challenge. We are
fully accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Management Education
(CAHME).
The Graduate Program is one that can accommodate either full-time or part-time students.
Our educational philosophy is one that blends a strong foundation of classroom work
with a variety of opportunities to apply those skills. Our relationship with the healthcare
community allows us to use “real” healthcare organizations as our extended classrooms
where students tackle real issues and challenges for our community partners. In addition,
students will complete an internship which serves the purpose of gaining experience,
gaining confidence in your abilities, and exposing you to contemporary issues in this
dynamic field.
Full-time students can complete the Graduate Program in two (2) years, while completion
time varies for part-time students, generally based on their time constraints. Admission
for Full-time students is for the Fall semester only. Part-time students can be admitted
in the Fall.
Employment prospects are excellent with virtually a 100% employment rate for graduates.
We hope you will consider our Graduate Program for your education and future. Feel
free to contact us at your convenience, and if possible, come visit us. We look forward
to talking with you.
