Student Success Programs (SSP) is made up of three programs focused on retention,
persistence and graduation:
- TRIO Classic - open to eligible* students pursuing all majors, the federally-funded program provides
free academic, career, financial, personal, social, and technological assistance and
support to assist participants in adjusting to college life, achieving academic success,
with the overall goal of graduating with a baccalaureate degree.
- TRIO STEM - the federally-funded STEM program provides the same support as the TRIO Classic
program for eligible* students majoring in science, technology, engineering or math
degrees.
- First Scholars® – funded by a grant from the Suder Foundation, this 4-year program provides support
to eligible, entering first-time, full-time freshmen who commit to living on campus
and fully participating in the program. First Scholars® receive a $5,000 scholarship,
renewable for up to three years.
*Eligibility for both TRIO programs includes low-income (Pell-eligible), first-generation or
students with disabilities
