The goal of the First Scholars® Program is to support first-generation college students and enhance their ability to successfully graduate. We define first-generation college students as those whose parents have no education beyond 2 years of college and no post-secondary degree. The 4-year program is open to incoming first-time, full-time freshmen whose parents did not attend college. Selected students receive personalized support, an annual award of $5,000, which is renewable for a total award of $20,000 over 4 years.
