1. Meeting called to order at 9:38 a.m.

2. Motion was made to approve the December Minutes as amended, seconded, and passed with a 0-no and 0-abstention vote.

3. Committee Reports:


Election: No Report

Finance: The only expenditure was $21 phone fee, leaving a balance of $4,766.39.

Issues: Report was distributed.

The Sick Leave Bank is under review, but it will take approximately 4-6 months.There was open discussion concerning the Sick Leave Bank.

Membership: The Clusters used for Senate membership are under review.

Public Relations: Senator Ayers resigned as Chair of this committee.President Taylor asked for a volunteer to chair this committee.

Bylaws: A motion to send the discussion of the attendance policy back to the By-Laws Committee was made, seconded, and passed with a 0-no and 0-abstention vote.The next By-Laws Committee will be open to all Senate members for their input on the attendance plan.

4. Old Business

The Rally on Increasing Higher Education Funding is set for downtown, Saturday, January 26th.UT Memphis is going to join The University of Memphis for this rally.

Harriet Montgomery and Mary Ann Camp will be attending the February meeting.If you have any questions please submit them to President Taylor prior to the meeting.

Ruby Copeland of the Registrar’s office suffered a house fire and any household donations can be brought to the Senate room in McCord Hall.If you need to leave items in the Senate office please contact one of the Executive Board members for access.

5. New Business

There were some problems with some meal reimbursements in December, there were some extra fees charged by some banks.If you have any questions, please contact Accounting.
