STEPS annual Feeling Blue Day was held on the campus of University of Memphis on September 15, 2011. Starting in
the morning STEPS painted the campus blue by painting students and volunteer’s faces
with blue paw prints, tiger stripes, and question marks. Students and volunteers with
painted faces and/or wearing a sticker that said “Ask me why I am BLUE” were encouraged
to share about Feeling Blue Day and suicide awareness and prevention and direct interested
individuals to the UC where STEPS hosted informational tables and fun activities.
