Because I am involved... I have learned to appreciate others more. I find myself to be an understanding person, but being the president of my sorority, I was faced with many different situations and personalities that I hadn't faced before. Learning how to not only work well with different types of people, but appreciate them as well, will make my life after college even more fulfilling. I am thankful for the challenging and rewarding situations I experienced.

Because I am involved... I am a better planner and organizer.  Being on Executive Committee for my fraternity, I have had the opportunity to create and implement a new philanthropy for the Greek community benefitting Memphis Food Bank, plan socials with sororities, and lead a weekly chapter meeting.  This has been valuable for my chapter, but has also made me more prepared for life after college because I will be able to plan and organize fundraisers or lead a committee meeting at my future job.

Because I am involved... in many different organizations on campus, I have learned that with leadership comes responsibility. I have learned how to time manage between involvement, school, as well as, having a job. Being a leader on campus has taught me so much. It has shaped me into being a better communicator and a better listener to those around me.

Because I am involved... I am a better decision maker. Being in certain positions such as an RA, Nonprofit Leaders Student Association, Alternative Spring Break, and Campus Outreach have all taught me that the decisions I make are not only for self but also have the capability to influence others.

Because I am involved... I am more open minded to others opinions and life. Being the Residence Hall Council President taught me how to be more considerate of others opinions by listening to my peers and advisors through different events and meetings in order to help make my organization be more successful on campus. Being involved has given me vital leadership skills such as, speaking, growth, networking, and most importantly integrity. Here at the U of M I can truly say my involvement experience has been a joyful experience.

Because I am involved... I am a better student. When I became Chair for Student Activities Council, I learned time management, networking skills, and gained better communication skills. I also learned how to be a team player, which overall has made SAC more successful. Being involved on campus has opened doors and given me countless opportunities with other organizations. I really like the experience I have had being a student leader and hope to inspire others to do the same.
