Student Disability Services

General Caseload GA

Description: Coordinator of the General Caseload (students with physical and psychiatric disabilities) and Assistive Technology

Duties:

  • Coordinates recruitment of volunteer notetakers for students needing notetaking as an academic accommodation
  • Provides clerical assistance to the Coordinator
  • Assists with ordering, scanning and editing alternate format texts and materials
  • Proctors special accommodation tests as needed

Adaptive Technology Lab GA

Description: Coordinator of the General Caseload (students with physical and psychiatric disabilities) and Assistive Technology (Includes summer work)

Duties:

  • Scans and edits documents and texts; converts print information into Braille; operates and teaches Assistive Technology, such as voice recognition software, screen reading software, screen enlarging software. (GA must be very tech-savvy, but will be taught what he/she needs to know.)
  • Proctors special accommodation tests as needed.
  • Records data about Assistive Technology teaching/learning sessions with students and records student traffic in the Adaptive Technology Lab.

Career GA

Duties:

  • Runs the Career Tracks Program which collaborates with Career Services to
  • counsel a caseload of SDS students in all aspects of career development
  • Keeps statistics on the Career Tracks participants
  • Assists with notetaker recruitment, as needed
  • Recruits and directs students for various SDS and Career Services career opportunities, including Career Mentoring Day, and the Workforce Recruitment Program
