What is New Student Convocation?

Students entering college are embarking on a new and exciting phase of their lives. The University of Memphis marks the beginning of that journey with New Student Convocation on the first day of classes of each academic year.

Participants learn about University traditions and receive advice on how to become successful students. Alumni and friends share stories of their lives and experiences at the University of Memphis. Other speakers include university officials such as President Shirley Raines, Provost Ralph Faudree, and Vice President for Student Affairs Rosie Bingham.
