Student Development is committed to supporting the University of Memphis in achieving its mission as an urban university and to enhancing the development of students as total people. Student Development is dedicated to helping students grow intellectually, spiritually, vocationally, emotionally, and socially. The staff develops and increases knowledge about students through scholarship, research, and participation in professional organizations. We strive to use that knowledge in consultations with students, staff, faculty, and the surrounding community. Our goal is to create a healthy campus climate so that students can achieve academically and socially in ways that will facilitate their transition into the world of work and public service. To this end we are committed to promoting a campus that is accessible, diverse, intellectually stimulating, educationally innovative and supportive of all students.
