Midsouth Survey Research Center (MSRC)

"The Midsouth Survey Research Center is housed in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. The MSRC serves both the University and communities in the Midsouth, while also engaging in National and International research through publications and grants. The MSRC, while housed in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice, engages in research in public safety, as well as, many other subject areas. For instance, the MRSC has examined issues related to real practice improvement needs of physicians, labor force availability in Southern Middle Tennessee, and completed a survey on the attitudes of U of M faculty toward administrators. Additionally, the MSRC conducted a survey on behalf of the U of M Loewenberg Shool of Nursing and Public Health to measure attitudes and opinions to inform civilian practitioners engaged in disaster recovery activities to help them become more effective when working with military personnel during aeromedical evacuation."

The UMDC is led by a partnership between the Department of Architecture and the Department of City & Regional Planning, however its collaborative initiatives include many other University and community partners. Through its interdisciplinary strengths, the UMDC connects design to community improvement in a comprehensive way."
