David J. Wark Graduate Student Award

Dr. David J. Wark

Dr. Wark has served the UofM and our program in many roles for 45 years before retiring at the end of June 2016.  Dr. Wark served for over 30 years as the Director of Graduate Studies. He holds the 2nd Audiology License issued in Tennessee.  Dr. Wark has served on countless ASHA Committees and was declared an ASHA Fellow in 2000.  In 2011, he and his colleagues received the Editor's Award for the Article of Highest Merit by the American Journal of Audiology.  He also served as President of the Academy of Rehabilitative Audiology.

More recently, Dr. Wark received the Sallie Starr Hillard Mentoring Award at the 2016 Mid-South Conference and was recognized as a "PI Millionaire" for having brought in over a million dollars in grant funding to the University.

To honor his service to our School, we are creating a special award to be given to a student with interest in aural rehabilitation as funds are available.

If you would like to donate to this fund, please go to our secure donation site and after selecting "I am donating to CSD Retired Faculty Fund", select "David J. Wark" from the drop-down list that appears. We sincerely thank you for your support of our program!
