The Department of Theatre & Dance is a fully accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST), and offers a BFA degree in Theatre with concentrations in Performance as well as Design and Technical Production. Our MFA degree in Theatre offers training in Directing and in Design and Technical Production.

The department is equipped with costume and scene shops and four performance and dance spaces. Our students work alongside faculty and staff to stage the department's award-winning productions and can also be found on the stages and behind the scenes of local theatres.

Creating community and being part of the great Memphis community is an important component of our program, which currently counts approximately 100 undergraduate students and 15 graduate students.
