ACT Placement Scores
Students with valid ACT scores will be placed by ACT subscores as indicated below:

SAT Placement Scores
Students with valid SAT scores will be placed as indicated below:

• Students without valid ACT/SAT scores (scores older than three years are invalid) must take the COMPASS test.
• Transfer students who have not completed college level math or English must take the COMPASS test.
• Students with an ACT composite score of 26 or higher or an SAT composite of 1170 or higher are exempt from DSP courses.
• Students who believe they may have been misplaced by the ACT/SAT may choose to take the COMPASS test.
• Students who are required to take DSP courses in two or more areas will also be required to take a Study Skills class (ACAD 1100).
• Students should take the COMPASS test before attending New Student Orientation in order to be advised into appropriate courses.
• Students must register for a COMPASS test in person in 212 Wilder Tower.
