Our goal is to provide SSS participants at the U of M with the support and skills needed to remain in college and complete a degree program.



E-Workshops

Pamper Me  -   was designed to give students useful ways to effectively handle the pressures often associated with college life.

Services

•  Counseling Professionally trained counselors can help students with personal problems or unexpected situations which can affect their academic success and well-being. SSS Counselors also assist students in exploring interests, aptitudes, and skills to make informed choices when selecting majors or career paths.

•  Walk-In Lab Program participants have the privilege of using computers reserved for their use. State-of-the-art computers, Internet access, and a wide range of software options are all available to SSS students in the Lab. A technology graduate assistant is also on site to offer individualized assistance for all of your technology needs.

•  Financial Assistance Assist students in securing the most appropriate financial resources available through individual counseling, programs resources, referral, and liaison with the University's Student Financial Aid Office and community financial support agencies.

•  SSS Workshops SSS offers a wide variety of workshops that will aid participants throughout their college experience. Workshops vary in dates, times, and topics and seek to enhance both your academic and personal development.

•  Cultural Activities SSS offers cultural activities and free social events throughout the year to enhance the students' experience and awareness of the cultural richness in the Memphis region. These activities are designed to bring students, family, SSS staff, and the general campus community together informally.

•  Resource Library Through support from the University, SSS is able to provide a number of resources for our participants to checkout, including calculators and textbooks.
