Students enrolled in a degree program of The College of Communication and Fine Arts
who wish to prepare themselves for teaching careers in K-12 schools in Tennessee may
meet the state licensure requirements while pursuing their chosen majors.
Students with a Bachelors degree in Art can complete post-degree licensure in art
education at the graduate level. (See art education for details).
Admission to the Teacher Licensure Program
Students who plan to pursue an undergraduate program of studies which leads to K-12
Teacher Licensure and students completing post-degree licensure in art at the graduate
level must submit a formal application to the College of Education, Health and Human
Sciences Teacher Education Program (TEP).
Students are encouraged to apply for admission to TEP in their sophomore year. Go
to the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences website for application and guidelines.
