Non-Credit Courses
set cell vertical height

Non-credit courses do not offer any college credit to the students. There is a grade (satisfactory or unsatisfactory), usually based on attendance. For most courses, a student must be in attendance at least 75% of the time to receive an "S" or a passing grade. There are exceptions, including defensive driving and real estate/real estate appraisal classes.

Go to our online registration site to see all of the available classes!

The University of Memphis maintains records of students and their non-credit class grades for periods of up to five years. Beyond this time, we are not required to maintain these records.

CEUs (Continuing Education Units) are awarded for some classes which are considered to consist of content worthy of such an award. For these courses, each contact hour of teaching and learning equals .1 CEUs. To earn the CEUs attached to a course, the student must satisfactorily complete the course.

Most of our non-credit classes are available as open-enrollment courses and are advertised in our catalog. However, we also have non-credit courses available for customized training as well.
