The ITS Service Desk provides support to all faculty, staff, and students. It is comprised of the call center, Center for Teaching and Learning, and Smart Technology Services. Description;Mentors are experienced Technical Assistants. Mentors use their knowledge to counsel and assist new and developing Technical Assistants in their first and second semesters. Mentors coach new Technical Assistants in all aspects of their technical, customer service, and professional responsibilities.
Position: Sandbox Assistant
Description: Sandbox Assistants are stationed in the Technology Sandbox in the McWherter Library. They assist users with a variety of new and emerging technologies including 3D printers, GIS software, and CAD programs.
Position: Senior Leader
Description: Senior Leaders are the highest level of student leadership. They are responsible for developing and coaching Team Leaders in addition to assisting Technical Assistants. They also aid full time staff in counseling, training, and supporting Team Leaders and their teams. Senior Leaders measure, cultivate, and reward performance, while continuing to foster a team environment. Senior Leaders are required to work a minimum of 12-15 hours per week as well as attend monthly leadership meetings.
To be considered for this position, you must be a current Technical Assistant.
Position: Team Leader
Description: Team Leaders foster a team environment through assisting all Technical Assistants. Team Leaders also coach the developing Technical Assistants assigned to their teams. They also actively coach and assist the members of their team, helping them grow and improve in their duties. Team Leaders are responsible for ensuring their team members are knowledgeable and friendly, delivering the highest levels of customer satisfaction. Team Leaders are required to work a minimum of 12-15 hours per week as well as attend monthly leadership meetings. You must be willing to complete the Service Desk Leadership course to be considered for this position. This course is a free, not for credit course.
Position: Technical Assistant
Technical Assistants are responsible for providing our clients with 24/7 Tier 1 technical support and customer service. A technical assistant will assist clients over the phone and document and submit support tickets. Technical assistants also monitor and maintain our computer labs.
