Exam Proctoring Services - Respondus Lockdown Browser & Monitor
Respondus LockDown Browser™ is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within the Desire2Learn (eCourseware) platform. When students use Respondus LockDown Browser they are unable to print, copy, go to another URL, or access other applications. When an assessment is started, students are locked into it until they submit it for grading. Available for both Windows and Mac.
Discontinue the Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor services.
The Center for Teaching and Learning will pilot Proctor U for midterm and final exams.
ProctorU's use of live proctors add convenience to the test-taker's experience and is essential to many institutions in catching breaches of academic integrity. Live proctors are able to intervene if test-takers have others attempt to sit in for their exams or use unpermitted materials on their exams. Test-takers connect to a proctor via webcam, and the proctor uses screen-sharing software to close out of any programs the exam candidate may not be allowed to use and also uses it to monitor the test-taker's screen throughout the entirety of the examination. The proctor also requests a tour of the room in which the test-taker is testing and checks the actual monitor with a reflective device.
