Welcome to University College. Our mission is to provide individualized and interdisciplinary educational opportunities to both traditional and nontraditional adult students. Since its creation in 1975, the college has been an entry point for students, an innovator of new programs, a catalyst for interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary efforts throughout the campus, and a facilitator for the community to interact with the University.

We seek to provide access to quality educational programs and services for a diverse community of learners who seek change through increased knowledge and skill. As our program is interdisciplinary in nature, it is designed to serve any traditional or nontraditional student whose personal and career goals are not met by other degree programs at the University of Memphis.

University College courses can be completed on campus, online, or a combination of both in order to meet the flexible needs of your schedule. Areas of study include 21 concentrations in our bachelor’s degrees and 3 concentrations in our master’s degrees. Degrees can also be customized to fit specific learning interests, and credit hours may be earned through work experience and professional training.

A University College degree provides the knowledge students need to effectively solve problems as part of a team or independently in classroom and professional settings. Students pursuing a degree in University College will be able to apply their coordinated area of study in a theoretical and practical fashion while mastering computer skills, effective writing and communication practices
