Real Estate
The Department of Finance, Insurance and Real Estate (FIR) at the University of Memphis
is one of six departments within the Fogelman College of Business & Economics which
is the only business college in the Memphis area fully accredited by the prestigious
AACSB.
The Department of Finance offers the BBA degree with a major in Finance and concentration
in Real Estate. The primary objective of this degree program is to provide the basic
concepts, principles and analytical tools essential for business decisions in the
fields of finance and is designed to provide a broad background for effective functioning
within the discipline. The Real Estate Concentration is designed for students who
desire careers in real estate and related industries including mortgage banking, banking,
real estate development, real estate investment, real estate valuation and assessment,
government, as well as real estate sales and property management. The courses in this
online program may also be used to obtain a Minor in Real Estate or toward the Professional Real Estate Program .
The BBA degree with a concentration in Finance, Insurance and Real Estate requires
a minimum of 120 hours to graduate. You may complete this degree entirely online through
UofM Global or in combination with previously completed college level learning from
other sources.
