Vice Provost For Academic Innovation & Support Services

A Message from the Vice Provost

Welcome to the office of the Vice Provost for Academic Innovation and Support Services, 231 Administration Building. The Vice Provost is responsible to the Provost for leadership and oversight of all undergraduate programs and provides leadership in strategic planning, academic advising, and innovative methods to deliver and acquire college-level knowledge in fulfillment of degree completion. Specifically, the position oversees the Center for International Programs, the Fresh Connections Learning Communities, the Academic Counseling Center, the Center for Academic Retention and Enrichment Services, and the Center for Innovative Teaching and Learning, comprised of the following units: Prior, Experiential and Continuous Learning; satellite education centers; U of M Online; and Instructional Technology. He also chairs the University Undergraduate Council, and represents the administration to students who have concerns about academic issues at the undergraduate level.

Our Priorities

A priority of the Vice Provost's office is to maintain the integrity of our academic programs. We receive recommendations from eminent scholars and program experts during the peer review and accreditation process on issues from curriculum to budget. This feedback is a valuable tool used for strategic planning to improve the overall excellence of our academic programs. These ongoing processes help us to attract and retain the greatest faculty and brightest students.

Our Goal

Our goal is to manage academic programs and resources to accomplish the University's mission of producing dreamers, thinkers, and doers.
