WebDev Meeting Minutes for October 10, 2006
Hi all,
We will have our monthly WebDev meeting tomorrow afternoon (Tuesday, October 10th) beginning at 1:30 in 225 McWherter Library.
Items on the agenda include:
- People web server decommissioned – post shutdown issues
- Identifying web pages containing sensitive information
- SIRS instructor evaluations and reports online
- Enterprise Wiki/Blog evaluation
- Status update on migration to Luminis content management system
- Member Items

Meeting:
- People web server decommissioned – post shutdown issues
"People" server has been decommissioned. Identify URLs that still exist; remove "people"
server redirect. Two forms: mail-to script and ... Time frame for UM sites to remove "people" hyperlinks(?) One item not moved: page counters. Most use external counters; issue of secure / non-secure
connections.
- Identifying web pages containing sensitive information
potential secure information; SSN, credit card info, etc. SiteDigger software used to give statistics. Another company, Watchfire, has WebXM
for similar research.
- SIRS instructor evaluations and reports online
Any feedback? SIRS are student evaluations of faculty online. Login to reports for
any UM client available in Spectrum. Development ongoing.
Sidenote: the new Faculty tab in Spectrum. Includes the new Experts List; went live last week.
- Enterprise Wiki/Blog evaluation
Request to research an Enterprise collaboration or Wiki/Blog. Research underway.
- Status update on migration to Luminis content management system
- Member Items
Upgrade planned for Ask TOM approximately end of year.
Student Affairs plan target date of Oct/Nov student survey about cultural attitudes,
etc.
