WebDev Meeting Minutes for February 13, 2008

Meeting:

Meetings will be sectioned into two 45 min sessions:

• Session One: Content related.
• Session Two: Technical related; programming, development, etc.

Marketing to review Web sites at U of M beginning with U of M site.

• Next revision of U of M site layout to be 1000px width, replacing 800px currently;

• New and improved architecture: U of M site to be "root" of tree structure hierarchy.
• New and improved "root" of all sites: Sun to be replaced by Linux.
• English Department design as alternate template / layout.
• LCMS Consolidation.

Session Two: Technical

LCMS Migration - New 3.2 installation scheduled week of Feb 18. New servers, separation of db and servers on separate servers, features: encryption / SSL, In-Context Editing, consolidation of LCMS cabinets. There will be no migration of anything; data, sites, etc.; all sites will be rebuilt from scratch. Two separate LCMS systems; 3.1 version and 3.2 version.

Portal: New portal parallel deployment. (myspectrum....)

Red Hat LDAP: Meta-directory Team replaces LDAP with RedHat LDAP. Everyone encouraged to move to new LDAP. Details, contact metadirectory@memphis.edu
